2014 Lilly Den Farm October Newsletter

Fall/Winter CSA Sign Up

It is time to sign up for our fall/winter CSA. The CSA starts November 6 and last 30 weeks. We will be dropping off at our two farmers markets in Pittsboro on Thursday and Saturday. When market season ends we will continue to drop off CSA shares in Pittsboro on Thursday and Saturday in new locations and different times.

We are offering four different share sizes, small ($20), medium ($30), large ($40) and X-Large ($50). The weight of the meat for each share will vary depending on the cuts you will receive that week. We are extremely flexible to “meat” your meat needs! All CSA shares, regardless of size, will be able to choice from beef, pork, chicken, veal and goat. We almost always have beef, pork, veal and chicken. Due to the small size and high demand of goat we will make it available as often as possible. CSA member will get to choice what variety and cuts of meat they would like for the week depending on meat availability.

The first payment will be due on or before the first day of pick-up, the second will be due on or before Jan 15/17, and final payment, will be due on or before March 26/28. We understand that it is hard to come up with the full payment for 30 weeks so we have no problem splitting the payment to make it a little more manageable. We are also understanding and are willing to work with you on payments, share size, or any other things that might arise. With that said, if you decide to become a member we are asking for your 100% comment for the entire 30 weeks. The CSA is a great opportunity for Lilly Den to budget finances and product volume. Dropping out in the middle makes it difficult for our business to succeed.

If you or someone you know are interested in signing up for our CSA please email us your name and share size. If you have any questions you can email us, call us at (919) 356-5330, or come by one of our farmer markets.

Market Hours are Changing

Thursday, Pittsboro Farmers Market is going to start ending at 5:30 after day light savings.

Saturday, Chatham Mills Farmers Market is opening 2 hours later. The market will run from 10:00-1:00 starting November 1

Milk Up Date

Unfortunately, we still do not have milk. We are working hard on getting everything back up and running. Hopefully, Duke Energy will be here by the end of next week to set the pole. I will keep you updated. Thanks for the outpour of support!!

Thanksgiving Turkeys

We still have plenty of turkeys left for the taking. If you are interested in a fresh Thanksgiving turkey email us the size you want and what day you can pick it up. Starting November we will start getting order left and right. I will confirm your order via email.

We added a new turkey drop off location. We will be dropping off fresh turkeys at the Little Hen in Holly Springs Saturday, November 22 from 6:00-7:00. Please pass the word to friends in that area. Thanks!!!

As always thank you for supporting Lilly Den Farm. Without you we would not be possible.
